Inspired by the labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral in France—where Bernard of Chartres taught and studied ancient texts—this design combines ancient symbolism with modern reflection. The labyrinth, often linked to meditative practices of non-Christian origins, sits at the heart of a cathedral, blending spiritual worlds and challenging the divide between them. As Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Adventure teaches us, “The labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god. And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves. And where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence.” This tee captures the essence of transformation, with a symbol sprouting from the labyrinth’s center, embodying the journey toward personal growth and self-realization.
