Stoneware mugs from local ceramicist Alanda Gunn-Wilson available in a range of beautiful glazes with a 300ml capacity. These 6 glazes were all inspired by the incredible year round colours that surround us in Wales. These are individually hand thrown, turned, glazed and fired in Alanda's studio in West Wales. By combining traditional techniques with a modern perspective she brings history and nature into the contemporary home.
A 300ml hand-thrown stoneware mug from West Wales ceramicist Alanda Gunn-Wilson, made for howies as part of the Colours of Wales series, a set of six glazes drawn directly from the year-round palette of the Welsh landscape. This one runs in a soft Welsh-sky blue with the raw stoneware foot left exposed, a slim pulled handle and visible throwing rings inside the rim. Each piece is individually thrown, turned, glazed and fired in Alanda's studio, so colour, glaze pooling and surface texture vary unit-to-unit, which is the point. A small-batch homeware companion to howies' clothing, sitting comfortably with simple wooden, linen and other hand-made ceramic kitchen pieces.
